Introduction:
If you are as big of a fan of The Walking Dead as I am, then
you know all about the infamous Covid 19 episode from season 3. What started
off as an ordinary evening, quickly turned into the most gruesome, disturbing,
jaw-dropping moment in the entire show so far (in my opinion). If you missed
it, or just need to be reminded of its glory, go ahead and check out this video
right now!
Train yourself
It can be tempting to just jump into a warzone and start
shooting, but you have to remember that EVE is a skill-based game. A lot of new
players assume that they’ll be terrible at it until they are suddenly good at
it. The truth is that you need to practice and train yourself so that you get
better at it over time. And although there’s no rule book on how exactly you
should go about training yourself, there are certainly some useful methods
Pick your battles
It’s easy to get lost in drama and gossip, especially when
you work with hundreds of people over a long period. And it’s even
easier when those people are all crammed into one or two rooms together regularly. You know that person who says just enough at exactly the right
(or wrong) moment, sparking an argument between two other employees? It takes a
lot of work and patience to deal with emotional situations like these, but it
can make life at work more enjoyable if you pick your battles wisely.
Know when you need help
In Catch-22, most of Yossarian’s co-workers are mentally ill
or dying. And yet, it’s easier for him to accept that fact than it is for him
to get help. The same principle applies in real life: Many people in toxic work
environments shrug and stay silent when they should speak up. But don’t make
that mistake—the stress of being at work can take a serious toll on your
physical and mental health, not to mention your career prospects. If you feel
like you’re in a toxic environment or getting burned out (and we know what
those two things look like), talk to your boss or human resources team about
your concerns.
Make it fun
Remember that you’re playing a game, and if you’re having
fun, it will be easier to stay motivated. But not everyone finds war easy—if
you can’t think of reasons why you should enjoy it, try looking at it as a
challenge. Maybe your goal is to improve over time or reach a certain rank by
completing daily quests. Maybe your reason for playing is unrelated to winning
or losing; maybe you just want an excuse to hang out with some friends on
Discord every day. Regardless of what motivates you, finding small ways to make
war fun is important!
Use your support network
You’re in a tough spot, but you’re not alone. Be sure to
reach out to your support network and ask for help with whatever it is that
you’re struggling with (whether it’s asking for time off or finding resources).
This isn’t just about getting help from loved ones: Your community can be full
of people who have gone through similar challenges and might know better
solutions than what you think of on your own. And, as always, if nothing else,
remember that it gets better. You will get through all of these things—and
someday your difficult time might even make a great story at parties!
Learn what triggers your depression
While depression is an emotional illness, it has physical
causes as well. Oftentimes, things like chemical imbalances in your brain or
nutrient deficiencies can cause feelings of depression and anxiety. For
example, omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce depressive symptoms in
many people. If you think these physical triggers might be behind your
symptoms, make sure you’re taking advantage of good nutrition by eating fish
twice a week and incorporating nuts into your diet daily. If that doesn’t help
and you’re struggling with persistent symptoms of depression, schedule an
appointment with a doctor or mental health professional who can help determine
if any chemical imbalances or other problems are contributing to your
feelings of depression.
Don’t give up hope
It’s tempting, especially when you feel discouraged by a
seemingly endless string of losses. But if you want to know how to war away
from covid 19, it will take a bit of courage and determination, as well as some
tweaks in your strategy. Like any military campaign, a war on covers begins
with reconnaissance: learn what you’re up against and identify weak points in
their defenses. Once you know their strengths and weaknesses, you can exploit
those weaknesses without exposing yourself or your resources. Only then will
you be able to claim victory over your opponent.
